How to remove window tint using newspaper and soap?
Removing tint from your windows has never been easier. All you need to do is have a newspaper, a cleaning sponge, and a soap and water sponge. Here are some simple steps on how to remove window tint using only newspaper and soap. Start by making a mixture of soap and water that you will use. Then use your household cleaning sponge to apply it to your window. Make sure the entire surface of the window will be covered with soap and water.
Once all areas of the window have been soaked with soap and water, you can now apply the newspaper to your window. Make sure it fits your window snugly and that all tinted areas of the window are directly touching the newspaper you placed. It doesn’t matter if the journal is old or new as long as it’s a journal you can use.
Leave the newspaper in place for about an hour. If you see the newspaper sliding off your window, reapply the soap and water mixture to the newspaper to make it stick even more to the tinted glass. You can do this every 10-15 minutes to make sure the newspaper comes into contact with the tinted films.
After about an hour, try scraping off the newspaper with your window tint film. If the tint does not come off with the newspaper, carefully reapply the newspaper using the soap and water mixture and let sit for another hour.
Make sure the newspaper is wet every 10-15 minutes. Try to remove the log again after the time runs out. You should be able to pull it off with the tint this time.
If you can’t remove the tint with your hands, you can use a razor or squeegee to remove the newspaper and tint. It would be better to use a rubber squeegee rather than a razor as it can damage your window. Do all the above steps until you are done with all windows.
It would be better for you to use this fading method on a cloudy day, as the newspaper will tend to stay wet longer, which is better for loosening the adhesive used when applying the tint. If you don’t want to do the removal process on your own and have the money to spend, hire a window tinting service as they can also remove the tints at an additional cost.
